Quality Child Care in a Family Environment
WHAT IS FAMILY DAY CARE?The Cabonne/Blayney Family Day Care Service provides quality care for small groups of children from birth to twelve years of age in the homes of carefully selected Educators, living in within Central West NSW.
The Coordination Unit is located at 103 Bank Street, Molong. Cabonne Council is the Approved Provider of the Service and is responsible for the overall Administration of the Service. A Nominated Supervisor is employed to coordinate the Service and is responsible for the Service's administrative and financial operation. Each Educator is monitored and supported by Family Day Care Support Coordinators who are trained in the Early Childhood Field. |
Educators are required to hold a First Aid Certificate, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training and Public Liability Insurance as well as undertake a Working with Children Check.
Each Family Day Care home is safe, healthy and hygienic. Family Day Care homes meet the requirements of the Care and Education Services National Law and Regulations. The Family Day Care Support Coordinator monitors the children's well-being, supports the Educators and Families and informs the Educator of relevant Early Childhood issues and updates the Educator's resources. Families are encouraged to contact the respective Family Day Care Support Coordinator to discuss any aspect of a child's development. An appointment can be made by contacting the Coordination Unit. All Educators participating in the Cabonne/Blayney Family Day Care Service are visited by a Family Day Care Support Coordinator on a regular basis, approximately every six weeks. All Educators must comply with the policies and procedures as described in the Service Procedural and Information Manual. |

At Cabonne/Blayney Family Day Care we strive to ensure that all children are part of these 3 concepts Belonging, Being and Becoming within our Educator's environment and within our Service.
It is through play based learning children are helped to achieve the f5 learning outcomes set down in the EYLF.
The Service aims to extend and enrich children's learning from birth to five years and through the transition to school. The Service emphasises play-based learning, recognises the importance of communication and language, and social and emotional development. Our Service supports and promotes the idea that all young Australians become:
- successful learners
- confident and creative individuals
- active and informed citizens
Play enables a connection for children to explore, discover, imagine, develop ideas, interact and communicate giving a sense of Belonging, Being and Becoming. Play provides opportunities for children to connect their thinking and actions with facilitate learning.
Play based learning supports children's understanding, skills and abilities.
A child from even before birth is linked to family, community, culture and place. Through these relationships a child's development and learning takes place as they begin to explore, develop interests, create their own identity and make meaning of the world around them. The three concepts Belonging, Being and Becoming, represent life and living.
